Untitled Wall Project
Aaron Van Dyke and Kelsey Olson
Goethe in the Skyways, October 2018 - October 2019
'Untitled Wall Project' is a double sided moveable wall constructed with handmade drywall. The interior sections of drywall feature large scale inkjet prints, while the outward facing sides are layered with different kinds of paper.
"This wall is meant to support other art work, and to some extent, the program itself. In this way it can seem to sink into the background. The wall is caught between rising up—being built as an artwork from raw materials—and sinking, retreating into the background as support for another work or a boundary within the space."
Goethe in the Skyways is a year-long program of artistic actions, interventions, and manifestations in public, semi-public, and private space. The gallery space is located within downtown Minneapolis's 11 mile long skyway system.
